Something Not Working?

Is there something that doesn't work?  A trailer that won't play, or you're not getting dropdown boxes to work, or flash headers to view?

AngryFirst thing to do (before panicking!) is to check the version of Adobe Flash© that you're running.  Sometimes an older version won't work with some websites. The best thing to do is to visit the Adobe© website and download and install the latest version.

Obviously, if you're on a MAC (OS X, for example) then your flash support might be limited. Flash is not supported on iPhones or iPads.

Second thing to do is have a look to see what browser you're using.  Although we do try very hard to make the website compatible with all current browsers, sometimes the older ones, or ones that aren't up to date just won't display the contents properly!

We've tested this site on the following browsers:

  • Apple Safari 4.x and 5.x
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE7)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) both in normal mode and compatibility mode
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) both in normal mode and compatibility mode
  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox 3.x (haven't got 2.x, so untested)
  • Opera 10.x, 11.x

Which covers most popular browsers.

Please note that the site will work on Apple™ iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and iPad 1 & 2, and videos are encoded as Quicktime™ MP4 format for these devices.

Also note that this site does not support Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) or older. Pages will display, however menus and dropdowns will appear in stange places! (This is a conscious decision to no longer support older browsers.)

If something still doesn't work on the website, then please contact the Webteam and we'll try and sort it out!

iPads and iPhones

An iPadWhilst we are making every effort to ensure that content displays correctly on devices such as iPhones and iPads, some of the site content will appear and some will not!

We are currently in the stages of updating our sites so that we fully support iPhones and iPads, however we are still in the process of doing so and therefore not all things will work or display correctly.

Most content (i.e. written word and pictures) will display, however they may be some videos that will not display correctly using Apple Quicktime™. We're working on those!

Adobe Flash Player

If the videos aren't playing (there's a screen similar to below) and the header pictures aren't rotating (they're supposed to show pictures of Lucy in her various roles - if it stays on one permanently then it's more than likely a flash player problem! Flash Player either isn't installed, or the version you have is older than the video player on the website can support.

It's quite easy to update the Flash Player, however. Visit the Adobe™ website with your browser on http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

Then follow the on screen instructions and you should be able to update your version of player.

If you're having trouble, you can download the Windows XP\2003\Vista version here. This is version 10.2.152.32 and should work on Windows with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome.

Linux, Ubuntu etc versions of Flash Player are available from the Adobe™ website.
